Apprentice Sheet-Metal Fabrication Engineer

Apprenticeship for the next generation of sheet-metal fabrication engineers, with on-the-job training and some accompanying studies, with the ultimate aim of having the following skill-set.

Our sheet-metal fabrication engineers perform a wide variety of duties when fabricating, assembling or repairing different metal products.

They are capable of operating different pieces of equipment to perform those duties and will perform the following:

  • Refer to drawings (drawing up plans on how a job is going to be completed, including the location, size of job, type of metal needed and duties that need to be assigned).
  • Set up and operate metal fabricating machinery (these machines may cut, bend and straighten metal to form the material needed for a job).
  • Mark the material (ensuring it is been formed in the proper places and correct manner).
  • Shape and cut metal pieces as needed at a work site.
  • Welding and soldering.
  • Finishing seams, joints and rough surfaces.
  • Understanding how to use a variety of different tools and/or machine tools (which may include power shears, screw drivers, rulers, squares, callipers, hammers, files, saws, drill presses, punch presses, grinders, buffers, welding equipment, soldering equipment, riveting equipment, hand shears, hand snips and bending rolls).

Apprentice Service Engineer

Apprenticeship for the next generation of service engineers, with on-the-job training and some accompanying studies, with the ultimate aim of having the following skill set.

Our service engineers are responsible for attending client locations, assessing plant status/condition, suggesting suitable course of action and repairing problematic equipment.

They also undertake proactive service work, suggesting improvements to operational procedures and promoting the company’s products and services.

Our service engineers will normally perform the following tasks:

  • Communicating with line manager and client
  • Maintaining technical knowledge
  • Evaluating information
  • Promoting the business
  • Carry out repair work
  • Servicing equipment
  • Assisting customers

Our service engineer’s skills also include:

Field Sales Executive

We are looking for ventilation sales executives, who combine technical knowledge with sales skills, to sell the products we offer and to respond to client’s queries.

Our clients are usually technical staff from non-retail organisations, such as factories, public utilities, local authorities and other organisations.

To ensure the needs of both the company and clients are met, the sales executive will be required to liaise regularly with other sales personnel and colleagues from other departments internally.

As well as travel to client sites, there will also be travel to trade shows and conferences. Considering the international nature of some of our activities, regular trips abroad are also likely. In return for your enthusiasm and skills are a good remuneration package and benefits.

LEV Test Engineer

We are looking for Local Exhaust Ventilation Test Engineers, who will be responsible for attending client locations, assessing plant status/conditions, suggesting the next suitable course of action and repairing problematic ventilation equipment.

The service engineer will also be required to carry out proactive service work, suggesting improvements to operational procedures and promoting the company’s products and services.

We would expect the successful engineer to have:

  • Technical background
  • Self-motivation
  • Good oral and written communication
  • Planning and organisational skills
  • Logical thinking
  • Clean, tidy and well presented in appearance and application
  • An understanding of engineering drawings and principles
  • The ability to work quickly and under pressure
  • The ability to manage a varied workload

  • An awareness of health and safety legislation
  • Good eyesight and normal colour vision
  • Full driving licence
  • Minimum 2 years technical service experience
  • Preferable with formal training (P601/602)
  • Current CSCS and IPAF cards
