CASCADE
WATER WASH SPRAY BOOTHES
   |
The Cascade water wash spray booth has been
designed for continuous spraying operations, demanding excellent
filtering efficiency and simplicity of use. Benefiting from
a modular design, the Cascade can be specified to meet exact
application requirements.
The Cascade meets and exceeds current BS and EU regulations and complies with
HS(G)178 ‘The spraying of flammable liquids’.
The Fercell Cascade can be used in harsh and hazardous environments, with various
electrical controls, lighting, filtration, exhaust and drive options (EExd).
Supplied, as standard, built and ready for connection to all major services,
the Cascade can also be supplied unassembled for economic export and installation
in areas with limited access.
The Cascade water wash spray booth uses a triple water scrubbing action to clean
the extracted air of particles and overspray, minimizing fire risk and maximizing
cleanliness of operation.
The Cascade has a smooth internal design, ensuring minimum turbulence, pressure
drop and easy maintenance.
There are 28 models in the range with operating widths from 1100mm to 6600mm,
other sizes can be supplied to meet client’s exact requirements. |

ANCILARIES ATTENUATORS
Although the drive generated noise level is low, air movement noise level
is far greater, with an approximate internal level of 79 dB(A) and external
level of 88 dB(A) (calculated 2 metres from the fan).
Various methods of attenuation can be used for the reduction of both internal
and external operational noise levels. Typical arrangements are the use
of in-line silencers (podded or un-podded) on either side of the fan (entry/exit).
Further reductions can be achieved by the use of different fan specifications
(reducing operating speeds and increasing unit numbers).

EG ENERGY VALVE
The Fercell EG energy switch is designed for installation directly beneath
exhaust fans and can be used with all type of spray booths. The EG is
a remotely activated valve, which applies a gradual break to the extraction
of air when a paint spray gun is hung on the internally mounted trigger.
The EG trigger can be configured to operated individual fan units or
multiple units and operatives.
The EG energy valve is driven and operated completely by air, therefore
it can be used in any hazardous zone, ensuring compliance with all current
BS and EU regulations.
When the EG is fully closed, a small volume of extracted air is permitted
to pass, ensuring that any build-up of vapours/fumes, from products left
within the booth, are evacuated.
The EG permits sprayed items to be left within the spraying area, either
during their drying phase or shift patterns, whilst reducing electrical
consumption and heat loss.
There are 6 models in the range, with diameters ranging from 400mm up to
800mm.

LIGHTING
An area which is often overlooked is the provision of sufficient lighting,
the extraction and filtration of vapour and over-spray is just one side
to achieving a quality finish. Consideration should be given to the correct
lighting of any area, paying particular attention to the various levels
of lighting and the reduction of both glare and shadow.
Fercell has a range of lighting solutions, for both standard process (zone
3) and hazardous process areas (zones 1 and 2).
There are numerous models in the range, with outputs various configurations.
SURFACE TREATMENT
The provision of good quality light is an important part of achieving a
quality finish, so any light which is within the process area should be
optimised by both reflection and good house keeping. It is therefore recommended
that the internal surface of the process area is treated with Fercell’s
range of white peelable coatings, these can be supplied for cover wall
and floor areas.
Fercell’s protective coatings have excellent reflective
properties and reduce maintenance and the risk of fire
(coatings can be applied by either brush or spray gun).
WATER TREATMENT
A suitable chemical additive must be added to water wash booths to denature
paint and similar materials within the water. This will extend periods
between routine maintenance and control the efficiency of the Booth.
As well as denaturants and additives, Fercell can supply a comprehensive
range of booth cleaners, foam suppressant solutions and biocides, helping
keep spray process areas in optimum operating condition. |
